Flares are throwable light sources that illuminate wide areas temporarily in RECLONE. Unlike directional Torches, flares create persistent area lighting that benefits your entire squad. At 49 Tokens each, flares are A-tier purchases that dramatically improve team coordination during NVX-Orion missions.
Available Flares
A A-Tier — Highly Recommended
Blue Flare
49 TokensThrowable light source that illuminates a wide area temporarily. Useful for marking locations, signaling teammates, or lighting rooms without committing to a fixed beam.
Carry at least one flare for team coordination in multi-floor sectors.
Green Flare
49 TokensAlternative flare color with identical mechanics to the Blue Flare. Green flares help distinguish your markers from other players in squad runs.
Assign flare colors by role so your team knows who placed each marker.
Blue Flare vs Green Flare
Both flares cost 49 Tokens and function identically ?the only difference is color. Blue Flares and Green Flares illuminate the same area for the same duration. Assign colors by squad role: one player carries Blue Flares for path marking, another carries Green for danger zone warnings.
Flare Tactics for Team Play
Throw flares at corridor intersections to mark safe crossing points for reprinted teammates rejoining the squad. Place flares at room entrances to signal "cleared" status during objective searches. In Crew Sector bunk corridors, flares mark which rooms have been searched for data terminals.
Flares also serve as Hunter diversion tools. Throwing a flare down one corridor while your team crosses another can redirect the Hunter's investigation. This advanced tactic requires Track-o-Matic monitoring ?learn the technique in our Hunter survival guide.
When to Buy Flares
Purchase at least one Flare after securing S-tier essentials (Torch + Track-o-Matic). For Beta and Engine sectors, carry two flares for extended marking needs. Budget 49-98 Tokens for flares depending on sector difficulty. Plan your full budget on the loadout planner.
